The Premises
Arlington Baths was originally designed by architect John Burnett. The single storey building, which accommodated the pool, two bath areas and two changing rooms, was created in 1870. In 1875 a small extension was added in order to accommodate a new Turkish suite, and 18 years later, a second extension created space for a reading room and billiard room. In 1902, a first floor extension was added to one side of the building, giving it the form it has today. More about the building.
