Beginners classes provide a supportive environment and an authentic and systematic approach to Tai Chi which builds a solid foundation for developing an ongoing practice.

THE WILLIAM YOUNG SWIM SCHOOL

The Swim School has been established at the Arlington Baths Club for four years and provides swimming classes for all ages and abilities; specialising in one to one and two to one tuition, in accordance with the Scottish Teacher Association Guidelines. Classes are available for nervous beginners, non swimmers and also include stroke improvement, swim for fitness and triathlete training.

CLASSES FOR CHILDREN

Classes start from age three and a half. Young children and beginners will be introduced to and taught: - Basic water improvement - Floating competence - both back and front - Push and glide - Swim, prone and supine, for five meters As swimming skills develop they will move on to: Stroke Development Classes with opportunities to learn various strokes and build up distance.

ADULT SWIMMING

Swimming for nervous beginners through an approach that not only teaches swimming skills but builds confidence in the water and self esteem. Classes for adults are targeted at non-swimmer through to improvers and developers.

SWIM FOR FITNESS

Programmes are developed to build up stamina and fitness levels through aerobic and anaerobic training.

COACHING FOR CLUB LEVEL SWIMMERS

Includes: Starts, Turns, Individual Medleys, Drag Drills and All Stroke Programmes.

TRIATHLETE TRAINING

Coaching for those undertaking Mini-Indoor Swims to Open Water Distance Swims.

DISABILITY SWIMS

Swimming and Rehabilitation Classes are available and are aimed at disabled people and people undergoing rehabilitation.
